Supervisors Submit Transportation Projects for State Funds

On February 25th, the Board of Supervisors approved 7-0 the pre-application submissions seeking state transportation funds under Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) SMARTSCALE program. As a locality, Spotsylvania County can submit 5 local projects. In addition, the County can submit 3 projects through Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO).

In June, the Board will need to reduce the local projects from 5 to 4 for their final SMARTSCALE submissions.

  2. Rte 2/17 Widening from 2 to 4 lanes: City Line to Shannon Airport

  3. Harrison Road Shared Use Park: Harrison Road Park to Hazelwild

  4. Four Mile Fork Intersection and Rte 1 Revitalization Improvements

  5. Four Mile Fork Intersection and Rte 208 Operational Improvements
