June 16, 2021 - Planning Commission Work Session/Meeting (WITH VIDEO LINK)

The Spotsylvania Planning Commission will meet on June 16th at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Merchant Square Building for a work session that is open to the public.

The Work Session agenda items are below.

  • Special Use Permit: Urfan & Uzair, LLC (Capital Auto) (Battlefield District) The applicant requests a special use permit to allow a vehicle sale, rental, and ancillary service establishment (small scale) located at 4714 Mine Road.

  • Camping Code Amendment

The Spotsylvania Planning Commission will meet on June 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the Holbert Building.

There are three public hearings scheduled:

  • Rezoning: Saddle Creek / Linda C. Curtis & Leigh Ann Curtis-Chapman (Rappahannock Development Group, LLC) (Salem District) - The applicant requests a rezoning of approximately 48.42 acres to develop 101 single family detached units. The project is located on the south side of Piedmont Drive approximately 0.4 miles from its intersection with Harrison Road. Staff recommends approval with proffers.

  • Special Use Permit: Claiborne Verizon Cell Tower/Gilman Land and Timber LLC (Cellco Partnership) (Berkeley District) - The applicant requests a Special Use Permit for a 195-foot monopole communication tower with a 4-foot lightning rod, for a total height of 199 feet located at 3800 Guinea Station Road. Staff recommends the Planning Commission find the project substantially in accord with the Comprehensive Plan and recommend approval with conditions.

  • Code Amendment: Ordinance No. 23-181- Mixed Use Streets and Residential Parking Standards
