July 27, 2021 - Board of Supervisors Meeting (WITH VIDEO LINK)

The Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors will meet on July 27th at 4:30 p.m. at the Holbert Building.

There are four staff presentations scheduled:

  • Presentation of Proposed Internal Audit Multi-Year Work Plan

  • Discussion of County Employees - Cost to Advance COLA, Merit, Public Safety Step to July 2021

  • Approval of Resolution to Petition Circuit Court for Bond Referendum

  • FY 2021 Mandates Overview

There are six public hearings scheduled:

  • Schools’ Budget Adjustment & Appropriation for Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II & ESSER III) Funds

  • Rezoning: Saddle Creek / Linda C. Curtis & Leigh Ann Curtis-Chapman (Rappahannock Development Group, LLC) (Salem District) - The applicant requests a rezoning of approximately 48.42 acres to develop 101 single family detached units. The project is located on the south side of Piedmont Drive approximately 0.4 miles from its intersection with Harrison Road. Staff recommends approval with proffers. On June 16th, the Planning Commission voted 5-1 (Thompson) to recommend approval.

  • Condemnation Agreement - Saddle Creek Rezoning (R20-0008) (No Public Hearing Is Required)

  • Code Amendment: Ordinance No. 23-181- Mixed Use Streets and Residential Parking Standards. On June 16th, the Planning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend approval.

  • County Code Amendment - Camping. On July 7th, the Planning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend approval.

  • Special Use Permit: Claiborne Verizon Cell Tower/Gilman Land and Timber LLC (Cellco Partnership) (Berkeley District) - The applicant requests a Special Use Permit for a 195-foot monopole communication tower with a 4-foot lightning rod, for a total height of 199 feet located at 3800 Guinea Station Road. Staff recommends the Planning Commission find the project substantially in accord with the Comprehensive Plan and recommend approval with conditions. On June 16th the Planning Commission voted 6-0 to recommend approval.
