April 28, 2020 - Board of Supervisors Meeting (WITH VIDEO LINK)

The Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors will meet on April 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Holbert Building.

A budget work session is scheduled. On April 9th the real estate tax rate was adopted at .8094, based off a budget scenario that was requested by Courtland Supervisor David Ross and Chancellor Supervisor Tim McLaughlin. County staff is requesting the Board finalize the budget based on that tax rate at this meeting.

Some changes to the original budget scenario were made since it was presented on April 9th. Those changes can be reviewed by clicking the budget scenario link above.

There are three public hearings scheduled :

  • Lee Hill District Rezoning Application - Foxcroft Development, LLC, and The Oaks, L.L.C. The applicant requests the rezoning of four (4) parcels approximately 11.86 acres from Residential 2 (R-2) to Residential 8 (R-8) with proffers for an 81 lot subdivision of single-family attached homes with a density of 6.83 units per acre. The properties are located at 9911 Holland Meadows Court, 3725 Lee Hill School Drive, 3737 Lee Hill School Drive and 3743 Lee Hill School Drive. Staff recommends approval with proffers dated November 18, 2019. On January 15, 2020, the Planning Commission voted to deny this request 5-2 (Chancellor Commissioner Newhouse and Lee Hill Commissioner Carter).

  • Courtland District Rezoning Application - Rappahannock Development Group/Harrison Road, LLC. This proposal requests to rezone 24 acres from Residential 1 (R-1) to Planned Development Housing District 3 (PDH-3). The proposal currently consists of not more than 73 single-family detached dwellings, with a maximum density of approximately 3 units per acre located at 5601 Harrison Road. Staff recommends approval of R19-0004 with the proffered conditions dated December 2, 2019. On February 19, 2020, the Planning Commission voted to approve this request 5-2 (Courtland Commissioner Thompson and Livingston Commissioner Lane).

  • Livingston District Special Use Permit Application - Omar Abifaraj (Courthouse Classic Auto Sales) The applicant requests special use permit approval on a 1 acre Commercial-2 (C-2) zoned property for vehicle sale, rental, and ancillary service establishment, small scale. The property is located at 8900 Courthouse Rd. Staff recommends approval with conditions. On February 19, 2020, the Planning Commission voted 7-0 to approve this SUP request.
