At the March 31st Budget Public Hearing, there were 38 speakers that submitted statements that County Staff read. Four of those statements were from local non-profits. Of the remaining statements, 17 spoke favorably of the proposed County Administrator’s budget which includes a .8797 tax rate. The remaining 17 spoke in favor of lowering the advertised tax rate to at least the equalized rate (.81), if not lower. The next Board of Supervisors’ meeting is scheduled for April 7th. The Budget cannot be adopted until at least the Board’s April 9th Meeting, but no later than April 14th. While the attached is only a stock photo, if you watched the meeting last night the scene was not much different.
