Spotsylvania County's Bowman Center Could Get Big Makeover With Apartments, Commercial Space
This Lee Hill District residential development proposal projects a 4-5 year build out for 650 apartments. The article focuses primarily on how this project could bring transportation improvements to the corridor. However, it’s unclear how these discussions could be impacted by traffic impact studies and state proffer law limitations.
To support this project in an industrial complex would signal to the community that the Board has a larger vision for this area. It’s touched on in this article when Lee Hill Supervisor Gary Skinner stated his belief that this project could help develop 59 acres of County owned land in the area.
It’s clear the community is discontent with the current wave of rezoning approvals across the County. One way to gain trust is to be more transparent about the larger vision for these types of projects.
