Compensation Concerns of Spotsy Firefighter and Police Associations
Following these statements several Supervisors directed County staff to report back on this issue. This might have been an appropriate response, if only this was the first time this issue was brought up.
Since the implementation of the County employee compensation study began, the Spotsylvania Career Firefighter Association has voiced concerns about the study which they believe fails to adequately bring all firefighters to a competitive salary. The Board's lack of enthusiasm to discuss these concerns suggests two things: they disagree with the characterization of the compensation study or they feel the community would not be concerned that some of their public safety employees are not receiving a competitive salary.
